Undergraduate Student Honored by the Division of Environmental ÌÇÐÄvlog¹Ù·½Èë¿Ú of the American Chemical Society

In recognition of his contributions to the field of environmental chemistry Kayvon Ghayoumi is honored with the Division of Environmental ÌÇÐÄvlog¹Ù·½Èë¿Ú 2017 Undergraduate award from the American Chemical Society. Ghayoumi earned a B.A. in ÌÇÐÄvlog¹Ù·½Èë¿Ú at the ÌÇÐÄvlog¹Ù·½Èë¿Ú this Spring. His interest in Environmental ÌÇÐÄvlog¹Ù·½Èë¿Ú started while taking CHE 565 taught by Dr. Marcelo Guzman, who later became his research supervisor.

ÌÇÐÄvlog¹Ù·½Èë¿Ú Professor Awarded Grant From National Science Foundation

ÌÇÐÄvlog¹Ù·½Èë¿Ú Professor Yinan Wei recently received a $450,000 grant from the National Science Foundation for a study expected to generate some of the first ever data in her subject matter, which focuses on how proteins oligomerize in cell membrane, or in other words, how membrane-spanning proteins that function in units containing more than one subunit, assemble in nature.
