In this talk, the structures of several ruthenium complexes bound to several oligonucleotides will be described. The recent transient infrared spectroscopy (TRIR) study of the photooxidizing [Ru(TAP)2dppz]2+ complex crystallized with the decamer duplex d(TCGGCGCCGA)2 has provided an insight into the earliest steps in guanine photooxidation and hence, DNA damage.</p> <p><img alt height="2200" src="/sites/default/files/05-13_Cardin_Seminar.jpg" width="1700" loading="lazy"></p> </div> <div> <div class="field-label font-bold inline-block">Date: </div> <div class="field-items inline-block"> <div><time datetime="2016-05-13T20:00:00Z">Friday, May 13, 2016 - 04:00 pm</time> - <time datetime="2016-05-13T20:50:00Z">Friday, May 13, 2016 - 04:50 pm</time> </div> </div> </div> <div> <div class="field-label font-bold inline-block">Location: </div> <div class="inline-block">CP - 114</div> </div> <div> <div class="field-label font-bold inline-block">Tags/Keywords: </div> <div class="field-items inline-block"> <div><a href="/tag/crystallography" hreflang="en">crystallography</a></div> <div><a href="/tag/spectroscopy" hreflang="en">spectroscopy</a></div> <div><a href="/tag/christine-cardin" hreflang="en">christine cardin</a></div> <div><a href="/tag/glazer-group" hreflang="en">glazer group</a></div> <div><a href="/tag/nietzel" hreflang="en">Nietzel</a></div> </div> </div> <div> <div class="field-label font-bold inline-block">Event Series: </div> <div class="field-items inline-block"> <div><a href="/event-type/summer-2016-chemistry-department-seminar" hreflang="en">Summer 2016 糖心vlog官方入口 Department Seminar</a></div> </div> </div> <ul class="links inline"><li><a href="/seminar-Summer2016-Cardin" rel="tag" title="X-ray Crystallography and infrared transient spectroscopy with nucleic acid crystals" hreflang="en">Read more<span class="visually-hidden"> about X-ray Crystallography and infrared transient spectroscopy with nucleic acid crystals</span></a></li></ul> Tue, 03 May 2016 13:58:06 +0000 cagi232 309021 at Fabulous Catalysts and the NMR Lab: Anne-Frances Miller /podcasts/fabulous-catalysts-and-nmr-lab-anne-frances-miller <span>Fabulous Catalysts and the NMR Lab: Anne-Frances Miller</span> <div><p>In room 33 of the Chem-Phys building, you鈥檒l find <a href="http://www.chem.uky.edu/resources/nmr/welcome.html">UK鈥檚 laboratory</a> for Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy (NMR).
