The last event of the 糖心vlog官方入口 College of Arts and Sciences鈥 Civil Life Panel Series鈥 spring season is slated noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 19, with two follow-up panel discussions later the same day. The topic is 鈥淪cience Speaks.鈥
Allan Butterfield, Alumni Association Endowed Professor of Biological 糖心vlog官方入口; , assistant professor of earth and environmental sciences; , professor of entomology; and , associate professor of biology, will gather for a lively discussion at noon in the UK Athletics Auditorium of the William T. Young Library.
They will discuss what it means to 鈥渄o science鈥 at the university and explore how scientific ideas shape life on campus and beyond. At a series of panel events later in the day, faculty and students will share their research and consider the relationship between the UK STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) community and the broader community of the Commonwealth.
The two follow-up panel discussions are scheduled:
- 2 p.m., April 19, in Room B-108C of Young Library, with , assistant professor of philosophy; , professor of biology and director of the UK Ecological Research and Education Center; and , doctoral student in biology.
- 3 p.m., April 19, in Room B-108C of Young Library, with , professor of physics and astronomy; , assistant professor in writing, rhetoric and digital studies; and , assistant professor in writing, rhetoric and digital studies.
